Most news sites, knowingly or not, lean one direction. We do the opposite on purpose. Our sources are balanced 50/50 between left-leaning and right-leaning outlets, and we hold that balance deliberately — in the row of sources at the top of every page, and in the mix of stories we feature. When the left and the right are given equal footing, the slant tends to cancel out, and what's left is closer to the plain facts. That balance isn't an afterthought; it's the entire point of the site.
We are constantly scanning the web for the best and most interesting stories from across the spectrum, surfacing the ones drawing the most coverage. Related coverage is grouped together so a developing story stays visible, and every headline links straight to the original article on the publisher's own site — we send you to the source, we don't republish it. Stories rotate through a rolling multi-day window so nothing important disappears overnight.
For major stories we also link opinion and editorials from across the spectrum, labeled by the outlet that wrote them. Reading the case the left makes and the case the right makes, right next to each other, is one of the fastest ways to understand an argument — and to judge it for yourself.
We don't editorialize inside the news. We don't bury stories because they're inconvenient to one side or the other. We don't rewrite, paywall, or claim other people's reporting as our own. And we don't tell you what to think — the balanced presentation is a tool, and the conclusions are yours.
